From Wynwood to the Fintech Summit with Dileep Thazhmon

I remember hearing about Dileep Thazhmon and Jeeves in the summer of 2020.

I was chatting with Peter Livingston and he said one of his classmates from business school was in stealth mode at Y Combinator and we were getting good feedback on their product from another company we had backed called Belvo (Uri Tintore).

Just a few weeks later we invested in his new company Jeeves which was still pre-product. I felt they were addressing an important set of issues but at that point we simply hoped for the best for the team.

Little did I know the next three years of Dileep and the team at Jeeves would be so eventful. In that short time, Jeeves has been an integral part of the fintech ecosystem in Latin America and continues to innovate for multi-country and global businesses.

As we chatted at a cool 😎 place in Wynwood (Miami), Dileep shared some of the strategic and often times tough decisions founders need to make to go after ambitious goals.

We also marveled at the serendipity and power of networks in the world of startups and investing. In our case it all started with meeting the team at Picap LATAM (Daniel R. , Hector N. ) .

When I told them I would help them find more investors in February 2019 it lead me to Peter Livingston who then got support from Tomas Uribe .

Little did I know I had accidentally got connected to one of the most critical networks in Latin American startups in the last decade, the Stanford University Graduate School of Business class of 2012 which included:

Dileep Thazhmon
Tomas Uribe
Peter Livingston
Courtney McColgan
Gabriel Braga
David Vélez

And I am sure other amazing people I am missing who have been vital to the LatAm tech community.

It was awesome to spend time and learn from Dileep and I am ever grateful for stumbling into such an incredible community of people!
