Last night I was lucky to host 2 great founders from Colombia 🇨🇴 at my home: Mariajose Satizabal Gallo and Juan Pablo Montoya. Mariajose’s story is like an action adventure.
She was working at a consulting firm and had a project to build a new website. She connects with Jose Jair Bonilla on the website project and eventually gets recruited to lead Imaginamos and a team of 200 people.
After several years of being very involved in entrepreneurship in Colombia she decided to start a new company.
When you are around her you feel her gravitas and intensity for her mission. I am happy to know she is tackling an important problem in healthcare.
Juan Pablo Montoya is the founder of Momentu , a Y Combinator backed company looking to bring more health insurance to Latin Americans. Originally focused on mental health services, Momentu has expanded its scope to make a bigger impact. His entrepreneurial journey has had many twists and turns, like all founders, and it was awesome to meet him in person.
A fun part of last night was my 80 year old father happened to be in town and joined us for dinner. Being a Colombian 🇨🇴 trained doctor Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, getting to meet to Colombian founders trying to improve healthcare was a very cool experience for him and me!
