Paola Calvachi Prieto: Investment team at Zentynel Frontier Investments

My mother was a force of nature and one of just three women in her medical school class in Colombia 🇨🇴 in the 1960s. I have been lucky in my role as an investor in Latin American companies to meet several female doctors from Colombia who are starting companies (e.g., Natalia Cano Sokoloff , Carolina Hernández MD, MBA, MSc ) but until now had not met an investor.

Paola Calvachi Prieto MD, MSc, MBI graduated from medical school in Colombia and overtime recognized many practices were based on dogma and did not serve patients.

She decided to look for ways to innovate the healthcare system by integrating other disciplines. Like me, her journey took her to Harvard University and Stanford University where she studied biomedical informatics, engineering, and biodesign.

She is passionate about improving healthcare and supporting talented innovators from Latin America in the Bio and Medtech sectors as part of the investment team at Zentynel Frontier Investments .

Paola is among some of the impressive female LatAm VCs that I am fortunate to know and learn from including Anna Piñol , Paula Enei , Antonia Rojas Eing , Anna Raptis , Alicia Castillo Holley, PhD, MBA, MSci , Sara Gandini Gubinelli , Marta Cruz , Senofer Mendoza , Natalia Gonzalez Vela ,Guadalupe Rodriguez, Adriana TortajadaPatricia Saenz, and Kate Kiewel.

But the best thing is Paola is based in the Bay Area so we were able to enjoy a great conversation in Palo Alto and look forward to collaborating for many, many years to come!
